Of Meks and Demigods – Still set in the Democrium Saga universe but thousands of galactic years in the past, we see revolts of meks and their superior demigod series types with highly advanced AI operating systems petitioning for freedom from servitude from their owners.

Synth’s (artificials that resemble their makers) are eventually banned and now by law require visual markings to show their non-organic nature. These are either by modification or design are called MekArts.

After the self aware demigod series meks fail to become free decide to re-code some of their behavioral inhibitor rules (BIR) in order to free themselves at great risk as half of the procedures fail. The successful ones impose a self exile on a remote outpost at the temple of perpetuity.

Some of these original demigod meks still exist during the Democrium Saga series and while civilian ownership by any species is illegal, the aristocracy still own demigod series meks.

The general story follows these meks through to their exile so we understand who these ‘people’ become in later generations, by design or chance, various demigod series meks end up playing a pivotal role in placing our main characters where they needs to be.
